Info about the Local Guides Connect achievement please

Dear Local guides, I have one question for last 4 years I was updating pictures, reviews and everything what I could through google maps and now finally I’ll do it here, but one thing is bothering me why aren’t all my achievements connected with the localguidesconnect.com or is there a way to do it?

Can you help me with that please!!

Welcome in Local Guides Connect. In the community we don’t “collect” badges. Badges are simply the acknowledgement of our activity in the community:

Your Google Map Badge (Level) is shown on your profile in Connect, but of course we can see your badges in Google Maps through Your profile in the Maps App

In Connect we receive badges for:

  • Number of post: based on the number of thread you start

  • Likes Given / Received: You can give a like to a post or to a photo, if you like it, and of course you can receive likes for beautiful contents. 14 helpful tips for using Connect will help you to write engaging post in the community

  • Solutions: When our reply is helpful, it can be flagged as a “Solution” for the post: Tip: How to mark replies as solutions — “Accept as Solution” feature

  • Status badges: are showing the status of the Local Guide (e.g. Connect Moderator) or the participation to some official event, like Connect Live.

Be active in the community, and the number of your badges will increase for sure. To see the badges of a Local guide, you just need to click on the profile

It would be a collective of important points that @ErmesT kindly shared, as you may check them at your convenience to clarify (I have also accepted the reply as Solution, with the reason already mentioned)

Should there be additional information, do feel free to check as how the badges system of Google Maps and Connect would differ. I guess your query is regarding how the achievements in Maps reflect on Connect.

That happens in the following manner.

  1. The LG level is displayed along with your Connect screen name.

  2. You can provide access to your Maps profile so that others can see the achievements there, directly.

Further, you have the following avenues to publicize that.

  1. Create posts in the achievements section periodically, on achieving some new accolades.

  2. Create a signature which would appear at the bottom of any new posts or comments by you, exhibiting your contributions to Maps.
