Indonesia Travel Bucket List Sulawesi 4 : Enjoy the Beauty of the Rammang-rammang Karst Mountain

This time me and Susur Nusantara team continues towards Tanah Toraja, Wednesday morning at 08.00 arrived at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar. From the airport, the team was picked up to go straight to Rammang-rammang and was the first destination to go before arriving in Toraja.

Rammang-rammang is one of the karst mountains in the Karos area of Maros Pangep, located in Maros Regency and can be traveled in approximately 2 hours from the city of Makassar, this place has beautiful and interesting natural scenery to visit.

Arriving at Rammang-rammang Hamlet, the team was treated to a beautiful view of a stretch of karst mountains lined up and towering. Not only that this place also has a very calm river flow. The name is Puthe river, the team also traverses this river by taking a boat and enjoying the scenery around the river, which has a background of very beautiful karst mountain ranges.

The journey along the river ended at the last pier of the Puthe river, although it ended it did not mean that the scenery here had also been used up, there was still a stretch of rice fields surrounded by towering karst mountains. Although it is a beautiful and attractive place, this place is not well known by the people of South Sulawesi and its surroundings.

If you visit the city of Makassar, this place can be a tourist destination reference that must be visited, enjoying the beauty of the karst mountain range while walking along the calm Puthe river is the main attraction of this place. Even this access to Rammang-rammang Hamlet is quite easy and can be traveled using public transportation or private vehicles.

How do I become a Local Guides to promote Indonesian tourism (Indonesia Travel Bucket List Stories : Local Guides X Indonesian Ministry Of Tourism)

The name of the program is “SUSUR NUSANTARA” has a special agenda to revitalize the existence of tourist spots in Indonesia that are less exposed on social media. The West Side’s fame on social media is far less than the East side’s fame, where hashtags with locations in Bali, NTB, Sulawesi and Papua are always crowded with posts by local and international netizens.

I along with the team explored 8 destinations that are rarely exposed in Indonesia. I was officially invited to collaborate because I am a co-founder of Indonesia’s largest media on Instagram, @ExploreIndonesia, and also I am an alumni of the 2017 Local Guides Summit who are very active in helping local tourism in my residential areas, Sidoarjo and Surabaya.

Not only that, my job there is to photograph the beauty of the natural, cultural and regional heritage there. But it also helps to update the location with updated points of tourist attractions on Google Maps with the Local Guides program and Street View Trusted Photographer so that it will get maximum results.

My goal for sharing this story is to show my experience when traveling to unique places in Indonesia. And also helps provide insight to other global Local Guides friends. So, I will write my stories through the title “Indonesia Travel Bucket List Stories”.

Hopefully, one day, officially, @ExploreIndonesia and the Google Local Guides program also Google Maps can collaborate in Indonesia.
