Indonesia Travel Bucket List Dayak Iban 1 : The beauty of the Benua Tengah Village

A simple breakfast at the residents’ house then watches the morning activities. Most Datah Dian residents work as rubber farmers, besides that they are also reliable fishermen. Some of them worked in the city of Putussibau. After saying goodbye, get ready to leave Datah Dian at 09.30 heading to the Benua Tengah or Central Continent.

Central Continent is the village of the Dayak Tamambaloh community. Here stands old with the main pillars that still use large and tall cane wood. Get to know the citizens and witness the daily lives of the people. If possible, after lunch, take a walk around Betang. Stay in Betang.

Central Continent is one of the villages in Takisung District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. As the name implies, this village is located in the middle of the Taksiung sub-district. Visitors who come in Central Benua Village can see the beauty of the villages, mountains and beaches of Takisung from the top of the hill.

There is one beautiful hill in Central Benua village, Sanghiyang hill. Sanghi Hill provides natural beauty and local wisdom.

In the middle continent village, there is a remaining betang house. Betang house is the oldest betang house in Kapuas Hulu, even West Kalimantan. The road to Central Benua village has been paved and is located in the Putussibau Badau Axis clan leading to the Indonesia-Malaysia border. From the shaft road to reach the Betang house about 5 Km through a dirt road and some of it has been hardened. If from Putussibau to the north around 50 Km to reach the location of the house betang or (Sao Langke) Dai Bolong Pambean.

At the Betang house there are often traditional events, such as gawai, weddings, death events and pickles - other big events. And at Rumah Betang, the conditions with relics - historical or cultural relics that have extraordinary attraction, because not all regions have that. In front of the house there is a river that is still awake and the water is clear and right in the front of the house Betang adds its own attraction for this.

The middle continent village still preserves and preserves this betang house. Many were impressed and even confused with the huge and long Betang poles, they could not understand how the old people had planted and erected the pillars, as we know that all of them were done manually, only using pickaxes and other traditional tools.

How do I become a Local Guides to promote Indonesian tourism (Indonesia Travel Bucket List Stories : Local Guides X Indonesian Ministry Of Tourism)

The name of the program is “SUSUR NUSANTARA” has a special agenda to revitalize the existence of tourist spots in Indonesia that are less exposed on social media. The West Side’s fame on social media is far less than the East side’s fame, where hashtags with locations in Bali, NTB, Sulawesi and Papua are always crowded with posts by local and international netizens.

I along with the team explored 8 destinations that are rarely exposed in Indonesia. I was officially invited to collaborate because I am a co-founder of Indonesia’s largest media on Instagram, @ExploreIndonesia, and also I am an alumni of the 2017 Local Guides Summit who are very active in helping local tourism in my residential areas, Sidoarjo and Surabaya.

Not only that, my job there is to photograph the beauty of the natural, cultural and regional heritage there. But it also helps to update the location with updated points of tourist attractions on Google Maps with the Local Guides program and Street View Trusted Photographer so that it will get maximum results.

My goal for sharing this story is to show my experience when traveling to unique places in Indonesia. And also helps provide insight to other global Local Guides friends. So, I will write my stories through the title “Indonesia Travel Bucket List Stories”.

Hopefully, one day, officially, @ExploreIndonesia and the Google Local Guides program also Google Maps can collaborate in Indonesia.
