Hello @grinchiki
In my opinion, a motocross road is for specialized persons & not for the general public. Adding those on Maps would not serve any grand purpose.
Nevertheless, I have noted many persons are adding those in Google My Maps & then making that public. Here is one example.
You can also create a map similarly & publish that.
and here is the track of our circuit, which according to the seasons, is not visible and therefore according to the map updates, there is no apparent circuit on google for several months …
It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.
Thanks for sharing the two links. Very interesting.
A few comments:
It looks like the track in the first link is very incomplete and inaccurate when comparing with the satellite image. Whole sections are left out. Right?
The main purpose for having roads and paths on Google Maps is to facilitate the best possible navigation for other Maps users. Would you honestly be able to argue that race participants would need Google Maps to navigate a specific turn on your track? This is just a rhetoric question = a joke.
I would seriously consider @C_T suggestion to first use Google My Maps to create the correct track. A link to this can then be shared on your race clubs website. This will allow participants to review and study your track in very high detail on top of the satellite photo. The advantage would also be that you have full control to make changes as needed over time. Getting the public roads adjusted on Google Maps can be a lot if work and you might not be successful.
Further making your track in Google My Maps first can later be submitted to Google as feedback if you want to try to have Google include your track on the standard map.
But again the roads are not really relevant for normal Maps users.
So could you explain why you want your track to be as roads on Google Maps?
Cheers
Morten
Let’s hope others will also voice their recommendations on this.
Yes you’re right, it’s more of a useless visual for google maps. My request resulted from the fact that some circuits have this recognition and therefore I wanted to know how to get there. I’ll take a look at My Maps, it will be wiser Thank you very much for your attention.
