In search of the best street food

To begin, street food in Mexico is a big thing. You can find it almost everywhere and at all times. I want to share you which, according to myself can be the best and of course I’m going to mention some others that haven’t try but close people have and I trust their reviews.

To begin you can go to any metro station and find street food outside, going from tacos to “garnacha” as we say here. “Garnacha” is a word that englobes pambazos, gorditas, quesadillas, flautas and a lot of greasy delicious dishes. To be satisfied cost around 60 and 100 pesos which is less than 10 dollars. Imagine eating so good for a really small amount of money.

There is also the markets, like the one in Tacubaya, Naucalpan or la Lagunilla; in this places everything you’ll find is really cheap but be careful, some food might be extremely good as well as bad. Under your own risk.

But if your not a big fan of street food but still like what they sell you can go to my favorite restaurant ever: Casa de Toño, a “garnacha” place that is already established in several parts of the city. One of the most efficient places you can ever attend, so fast, so good, so cheap, it’s literally paradise. So whenever you are in CDMX don’t forget to go there (Patriotismo, Parque Delta, Clavería, Lomas Verdes, etc.) you will not regret it.

A special mention to the donut guy who sells huge chocolate donuts in Condesa and Roma, if you happen to see him don’t let him go, his donuts are within the best donuts ever made (big donut fan over here). You can have one for as little as 20 pesos (oneish dollar).

Buen provecho!
