In quest of new tastes

Syria, like all the other countries too, has beautiful sights to offer, and a beautiful cuisine.
They have a rich variety of vegetable dished and love to use spices.
I discovered the restaurant Damas, in the city of Luxembourg, not far from the main train station and also well accessible by bus.
Damas opened my horizon of Syrian cuisine. The authentic taste of self-made food, using fresh ingredients was just delightful!
The entry plate I tried had a variety of many different things, like Hummus, falafel, couscous etc…
The main dish was an eggplant dish and I can tell: really good! The presentations of the plates are good and clean.
But then, the dessert made the evening complete!
I never had such a good dessert in my entire life!
It was a small bowl of semolina with grated coconut and orange water, served with whipped cream and a strawberry on top.
I can tell: I could eat this everyday ^^
For real, I had to close my eyes and let the symphony play inside my mouth. My taste buds were sparkling and I couldn’t believe how subtle it all tasted!
I felt like a thousand colors were rushing through my mouth.
I had to congratulate the chef himself (he’s also the owner), and I can tell he’s a friendly guy, open for a small conversation if he finds time after the meals are served.
Damas is a unique place in the city of Luxembourg for a cozy dinner and trying something new. It has a wonderful decor that’s not too full or heavy, but it’s clean and modern (Syrian) decor.
I totally recommend going here if you ate enough Pizza/Pasta or french cuisine and want to try something new :slightly_smiling_face:
You will not be disappointed!
As for me, it will be a restaurant I will always return to!
Damas offers vegan/vegetarian options.

Like Damas, I love to share with you restaurants that prove that fresh, organic or vegan cuisine is not about salads and fries, but there are chefs out there that prove that your taste buds can jump around and say: Hell yeah baby, this is what I mean by good cuisine!
Fresh, local, authentic and organic ingredients are key, and my reviews help you to find some awesome places worth visiting and having a good time, and where you do not faint when receiving the bill, but instead you go home saying: yeah, this was a good cuisine and experience, and I can’t wait to return!
