In pursuit of a perfect burger

Hello Local Guides!

It all started around 4-5 years ago when “slow food” popularity rocketed in my home city of Wroclaw, Poland. People moved from fast foods to newly created burger joints serving patiently created, handcrafted burgers. Burgers took over the city by storm - new place serving them would pop up almost every week (fun fact: it all started with just one Food Truck).

All of the sudden, everyone is trying to reinvent this well known classic by adding crazy ingredients like whiskey, pears, cranberry, beetroot, sheep cheese… and a donut. Everything is made using quality meat, bun, vegetables and secret “homemade” sauce. Let’s not forget about “Belgian” french fries which are a complement to a perfect burger… and it’s not so easy to make’em crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside!

People (me included) are trying to do something similar at home. You can see one of my first tries below. Not perfect by any means but still really tasty. Don’t laugh - it was a while ago, i’m getting better at this

Quality burgers are now a thing. A very popular thing. What a difference just five years can make. I love to find new places and review them using Google Maps!
