IDBD Theme for 2025:
“Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development”
This theme emphasizes the urgent need to align our lifestyles and development goals with the health of our ecosystems.
This meet-up will contribute towards SDG 11 & 15:
- SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, especially how urban biodiversity contributes to livable cities.
- SDG 15: Life on Land, focusing on the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.

5:45 – 6:00 PM: Welcome & Introduction
Brief overview of the International Day for Biological Diversity and the 2025 theme.
6:00 – 7:00 PM: Bird Watching Walk
Participants will explore the natural beauty of Nazimwala Talab and observe bird species, providing an opportunity to discuss urban biodiversity. During the walk, Local Guides will also contribute by adding photos of the Talab, its flora and fauna to Google Maps.
7:00 – 7:45 PM: Reflections & Group Photo
Discussion on local biodiversity and how Local Guides can contribute to sustainable development through their platforms.
