Hello Dear LG friends, I host an event in Gazipur, the second city of this “Accessible Restroom in the City” campaign.
Topic of the meet-up: Finding :
Wheelchair Accessible Restroom in Gazipur city and connecting them on Google map.
Date: 11 May 2025
Time: 02:00pm to 05:00pm
Location: Start from Tongi College Road and ends at Tongi Bazar
Purpose of Meet-up:
Finding Accessible Restroom for wheelchair users in Gazipur city. Update information on Wheelchair Accessible Restroom in the city on Google Maps and bring it under a list and open it to all classes of people.
Raising awareness about accessibility in cities.
Participant:
All Local Guides.
02:00pm All will gather at Tongi College Gate.
02:15pm-02:30pm Will welcome and introduce and share previous experiences. I will explain the purpose of the meetup.
02:30pm-04:30pm The group will head out to find a Wheelchair Accessible Restroom nearby.
- A checklist will be used to monitor the condition of the toilets (eg: Entrance, Door width, Hand washing facilities, cleanliness) and gather some necessary information which we will report to the next meet-up.
- Photographs will be taken to update information on Google Maps.
04:30pm-05:00pm Everyone will meet again and share their experiences.
Required Items:
- Smartphone (for using Google Maps)
- The Camera
- Drinking Water
- Wheelchair Stickers
- Face Mask
Note:
It is important to follow hygiene rules during the meetup and exercise caution on the roads.
All participants must update the Google Maps app on their smartphones before the meetup.
I will discuss the challenges and conclude the meet-up with steps to solve them, Inshallah.
We will announce the results through another virtual meet-up.
