The joint inscription of Melaka and George Town, the Historic Cities of the Straits of Malacca as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 7 July 2008, was based on the Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) of cultural diversity embodied and embedded in living heritage and built heritage. The OUV is a set of ideas or values, universally recognized as important or as having influenced the evolution of mankind as a whole at one time or another.
The Street Art of George Town in Penang is one of the most attractive things of this UNESCO World Heritage Town.
Cat Street Art in Georgetown - 101 Lost Kittens
Highlighting the issue of stray cats in George Town, Ernest made an art project ‘101 lost kittens’ in 2013. With a collection of 12 ecstatic murals depicting the tough life of stray animals, 101 lost kitten projects were a huge hit in Penang Island.
After telling a brief story of Penang city Destination on this trip From now on, I would like to share part of my story on this journey.
Before traveling, I often search for free privileges that come with credit cards, debit cards or mobile networks. And this is what I discovered and got for free from debit card privileges at Miracle Lounge Donmuang Airport, Bangkok and also get a free burger from the mobile network’s special privileges.
We spent 3 nights in this hotel, Armenian Street Heritage Hotel located in a good location Walking distance to street art district. And the night market is convenient. The price is acceptable. The room is large But quite old and smelly. Good service.
First dinner of every trip I usually choose restaurants that offer local or traditional food that I have never tried before. This time I was lucky to find Auntie Gaik Lean’s Old School Eatery Restaurant that serves authentic Penang Peranakan food with a 1 Michelin star guarantee at a price that you can’t find in 1 star restaurants in Thailand.
Penang’s Nyonya food, which is often called the Penang Peranakan food, is a unique blend from a Chinese-Malaysian household. The Peranakan culture is an integral part of Penang’s culture and their food is beyond a doubt a must-try when you’re here.
Talking about the best nasi lemak in Georgetown, Penang, be sure to check out RasaRasa , Who has received the Michelin BIB award 2 years in a row. (2023-2024)
Laksa and Char Koay Teow in George Town, Penang has made so many “must eat”
Both dishes are dishes you shouldn’t miss when you come here. And I don’t miss it. As well, there are many recommended restaurants, but I probably won’t be able to try them all. I chose this shop because it was close to another must-try dessert shop. And this Penang Road Famous Laksa also received a BIB award.
You’ll notice in many of my posts that I choose restaurants from the MICHELIN Guide. Don’t get me wrong, I had to choose the expensive one. Because every restaurant I choose There is an acceptable price. If you watch the video I attached. You will see that this meal at a BIB award-winning restaurant is only RM19 or about $5
Penang Char Kway Teow is a very popular and iconic noodle dish in Malaysia. This dish features smoky rice noodles stir fried in a piping hot wok with Chinese sausage, shrimp, eggs, fish cakes, garlic chives, bean sprouts. The noodles are coated in a savory brown sauce.
Penang Laksa (Laksa Pulau Pinang), also known as Asam Laksa, a specialty of the Malaysian island of Penang. The soup is made with mackerel and its main distinguishing feature is the asam or tamarind which gives the soup a sour and appetizing taste. The fish is poached and then flaked.
As I said at the beginning Not far from this shop is a dessert shop that everyone must try.
Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul is very popular. This dessert contains a refreshing blend of shaved ice, coconut milk, palm sugar (gula melaka), and green jelly noodles.
I arrived just as the store was about to close. But luckily there’s still some left for me. Even though it looks like a very small amount compared to the previous person. Enjoy my shorts vdo
I think this post is probably the longest of all the posts I’ve shared here. Penang still has many stories to share. But this post must end here. Before finishing, I would like to tell you about the durian here. I am Thai and most Thai people like hard durian. But the durian here is very soft. That’s because Thai people cut durian before they are too ripe for their liking. But people here like durians that are so ripe they fall off the tree. And although I like hard durians But I love the durian here.
