Improving my city one photo at a time... Look why I sharing photos

I was born in Condoto, a small town in Colombia and came to Cali 20 years ago to the university, those were different times when compared to current ones where internet is popular and we count with smartphones all time. Cali welcomed me and have given me many important things for my life.

The reason why I became a Local Guide was to be able to help other people as I believe it’s important giving in order to receive in life, so I began to share my photos in Google Maps without any specific topic really, as for a previous job I had to visit clients, I just started taking good photos of store facades, buildings main entrances and so, in order to help to identify a place for people who never have visited that site before. Gradually, numbers began to increase, my photos were viewed for many others and I realized my role is important for people too. Then I took it more serious and keep going.

For me, it’s important and fundamental making my contribution to my community and trying to recover that “disinterested goodwill” that characterized us before, which has been losing with years. I hope my numbers keep growing and my photos help to become Cali more accessible to all.

I never have traveled overseas so when email about Connect Live event came to my inbox, that was really cool. I also take this opportunity to invite everyone to visit Cali! a very nice city that will surely leave you with a good feeling when traveling for pleasure or business ?
