Importance of 3 R's - Earth Day Pledge

Hi Friends
I was on a heritage tour for the past 4 days. I had explored many UNESCO World Heritage sites and I will be coming out with posts all about those heritage sites. During this travel we visited Thirupurambiyam, which was once a battlefield during the 10th century, is now a beautiful paddy field.

I will describe about that place as a battlefield in my following posts. The then battlefield has now been converted into a beautiful paddy field by our Mother Earth. Our Earth gives us all what we want. I want everyone to think that what we have given in return. We are infesting it, polluting it and destroying it. Thanks to the farmers who made this land fertile.

In my previous Post I have mentioned about a Temple in a calm village. That place is free from pollution. The same way this place too is also very silent and away from pollution. Even though it was a hot afternoon, walking in between fields did not make us feel hot.

Mother Earth is still very kind to us. Remember there is a limit for everything and we are taking too much advantage. We are destroying the forests, disturbing the natural habitat, polluting the land by dumping garbage, and what not we are doing to destroy our fertile soil. We are using chemicals in the form of pesticides and harming the soil.

On this Earth day I want everyone to take a pledge to conserve and preserve our land and safeguard it to pass on to our future generations. As a teacher I have insisted my students to take the following precautions and
Avoid plastic,
Segregate waste,
Conserve the soil,
Reduce, reuse and recycle
I place a request to all Local Guides to follow and convey this message to our society

I taught and still teaching to make newspaper bags, paper mache and art out of newspapers.

Thus making an effort towards making our nature pollution free.
I WILL BE THANKFUL IF ALL THE LOCAL GUIDES WILL FOLLOW THE 3 R’s Reduce, reuse and recycle and be mindful in stopping pollution.

Thanks in advance for reading my post.

Thanks a lot @Ranu5g . We will take our effort and keep saying. Atleast a few will listen.

Such a heartfelt and powerful message, @Gurukrishnapriya! Your reflection on the transformation of a historic battlefield into fertile land is truly symbolic — a reminder of Mother Earth’s resilience and generosity. Loved how you’ve blended heritage, nature, and sustainability in your post. Your dedication as a teacher to instill eco-conscious habits like using newspaper creatively is inspiring! Let’s all pledge to follow the 3 R’s and protect our planet for future generations.

Hello @Gurukrishnapriya
I love your article and all those crafts
:globe_showing_europe_africa: Earth Day is a celebration of our planet, reminding us to protect and cherish the environment through sustainable actions.

To mark the occasion, I worked on a special project with my 9-year-old niece—a jungle-themed diorama crafted from papier-mâché and various recycled materials. Together, we transformed discarded items into a vibrant miniature rainforest, creating trees, animals, and landscapes while discussing the importance of conservation. It was a hands-on way to reinforce the value of reusing and repurposing, making learning both fun and meaningful!

Here is the on-going diorama. We still need to add the cotton clouds :sun_behind_cloud:, the waterfall which we will make using water & agar agar some more tiny cute animals :tropical_fish::bird::front_facing_baby_chick: etc

Thanks for the 3Rs .. I will definitely share that with my nieces :star_struck:
