Imagine a country without Uber or Taxify

Our roads are bad, but I’ve seen worse in other countries

Cities disorganized but not worse than Lagos in Nigeria

So how come we don’t have Uber or Taxify services?

We cant say these big companies don’t want to come over and make some profits

And we all know how useful Uber and similar services can be for travelers and tourists, and for general citizens

If you have used Google Maps in Cameroon, then you will understand why

Inaccurate locations, and absence of major locations, talk less of small businesses

They say, Google Maps is just not reliable.

But they’re wrong, because its working in so many places around the world

So what is wrong in Cameroon?

Inadequate human effort; not enough local guides

We think because its technology it has to automatically recognize every location

We fail to understand that it is what it is today in other countries because of other peoples contributions.

I love to put, edit and review local places of all types in Cameroon on the map, so that someday, i can be able to sit in my home an order an Uber, and so that tourists and others in need of location advice don’t keep suffering as they currently do in Cameroon.

And if you are wondering about the image i used, that street appears as unnamed in Google Maps and no location is mapped along, but it story is about to change.
