I'm a Level 9 and I'm leaving the GLG.

I’ve enjoyed uploading reviews, pictures, videos for years however watching my reviews, pictures, and videos get removed from the public… I don’t see the point anymore. The points grow either way, but that’s not why I became a GLG. Over the years Google improved features, however there isn’t enough to support for GLG. I’m going to slowly remove my content and leave. I wish all the GLG the best.

Very sad to see you go @RyanStafford , But I don’t understand the problem.

Looking at your profile I see photos stopped at 4 years ago and then you started again with a massive upload of photos all of one place 6 days ago. That’s too many photos of one location, and too many with visible faces showing.

That’s the only guideline I can see you breaking at the moment, but there may be other reasons for your content being removed. You might like to consider a pause in your activity without actually leaving the program and deleting your content.

I am doing the same. It is discriminatory that a bot gets to determine our genuine words and reviews. I’m leaving this and won’t post any reviews again.

That particular problem is a general one. I’ll rather you don’t take it too personal. No system is perfect,and Google is a system. It takes time for the AI to get trained and get it perfect.

What kind of support do you really mean? If you have a suggestion or a nice idea feel free to share it with the team here on the How tos section. Any other way you think the local guides program should be supported,feel free to share it too.

We hate to see you go. We would rather you try to help solve the problems and stay with it. We all have a part to play in this. You can make a difference

Nevertheless,Deleting your Connect profile can be done in four steps:

  1. If you wish to download the contributions you have made to Connect, visit the bottom of the Personal Information page in Settings.
  2. In the top right corner, click on the gear icon next to your profile photo to be taken to your settings.
  3. Select Advanced Settings and click on the Personal tab.
  4. Choose the Close Account option.

After you close your profile, you can’t re-open it. If you later decide to rejoin the community, you must re-register with your Local Guides account/email and start from scratch. Closing your profile will immediately log you out.
