Ile a vache presentation

Ile a Vache is beautiful island in the south of Haiti, 128 km2 according to the national tourism ministry.

The whole island has various beauties; amazing beaches, great landscape view in a considerable mangroves field. People are kind and always show hospitality.

Historically, it was a refuge for the pirates and buccaneer during colonial times (1492-1804).

I was living there for some years during my childhood and my grandpa use to told me that much of the inhabitants come from Saint Jean du Sud, Filament, Bake du Mesle, les Cayes. Zones situated in front of the island. Why ? Because it was a rich zone where to fish, plant and carry animals. That’s why several fishermen did not only come to fish but decided to build their own home there. Till now, fishermen keep coming there from nearby zones.

Some leaves their home to go there because of terrible hunger. Because it was a productive zone. Personally the first time I came here, fruit used to be wasted upon the trees and it was a pleasure for me to enjoy tropical fruits from almost any garden without even ask permissions to the owner. Life was easier there.

The name ile a Vache is literally “Cows island” and its true: By the years There was so so so many cows living this land.

Even After Matthew hurricanes, economic difficulties. The island still keep his beauty and recall you the nature elegance and comfort power. When you’re here. Its just another world far from the rest. Its so pleasing. Till now I always like spending time there and and meet my childhood Souvenir’s.

Tourists from the world use to and can visit this amazing place. There are at least 3 comfortable hotels to receive you and the tourism structure being established. This highland has potentials to exploit.

Please forgive me my English and the way I introduce the island. Its an improvised article and my English is poor! Maybe I will have to give specific details on other articles.
