If you have 2 children and 8 month winter.

I live in Ekaterinburg, Russia where winter 8 month a year. And a got two daughters 3 and 5 years old, which do not really like to stay at home after kindergarden. So I have to discover new places to spend time with my children. They do like walking, but outside temperature sometimes -30…-32C (-23…-27°F) frosty  that’s why I know all kids playgrounds in Ekaterinburg:

  1. Aquapark “Limpopo” – tropical summer all the year! A lot of fun for all ages. Waterslides, wave pool, sauna, fish-spa etc. You can snack burrito or slice of pizza right here, or have a cocktail. Just get the web site to book the tickets. Entrance monday till friday until 12am is cheaper J Do not recommend to visit at weekend and holidays because a lot of people and high price.

  1. “Tutokruto” playground. Actually there is one more park – “Planeta Igrik”, it’s bigger, but “Tutokruto” more suitable for children 2-7 years. One floor – your child is always on eyes. Trampolines, virtual room, where you can create your own creature and send it to the world, slides, pneumatic guns with soft balls, rope park and so on. Café and WC inside the park.

  1. “Aqaurium Delfin”– was opened just few months ago. Really nice place to spend time with family. But if you already visited some Aquarium at USA, Tenerife or Vietnam – most interesting attraction - scuba diver which feeds the fish  For children under 4 years tickets are free. For adults 800Rub (12,5$), for children 4-14 years 600Rub(9,3$).

  1. Puppet theater. If you are Russian speaking. Even when I was I little girl my moms took me there sometimes. It’s very old theater. Shows for children are short time, but very spectacular.

  1. Contact zoo. Actually I do not support zoos with wild animals. But if it’s goats, parrots, butterflies, chickens… why not? Is’t like a farm in the city. My kids likes touch rabbits, hamsters or feeds parrots.

We do like to discover new places, to visit new counties too. But sometimes it’s too expensive trip for all family  That’s why I’m a local guide for my children first of all J How do you spend time with your kids?

Loved your photos as the children in it seemed relaxed and happy. This made it clear that the place was good to go to.

I have little experience with real cold but you showed how a cultural experience can be as nice or nicer than outside. Well done.
