Iconic Masjid in Dhaka

A very beautiful, gorgeous and Architectural wonder & Reflection can be found from both mid eastern and early Indian architectures. The mosque has very wide spaces surrounded with a very natural environment and views. The Center of the mosque contains a very high dome, also four minarets placed in four corners, which gives an extra beatification and significant specially at night due to colorful lighting. The mosque is known as Army Central Masjid , One of the most famous, biggest mosque in Dhaka and Bangladesh.

Wow @SirajulAzad that looks like a massive mosque! Nice photos both day and night. Is it permitted to take photos inside the mosque?

Thanks for your inspiration. No it’s restricted to take inside pictures as the mosque is under defence authority.

Inside the mosque also very nice in context of unique architectural view.
luckily I lives very near to the mosque. So, I will give a try to take some inside snaps.

I asked @SirajulAzad because I know in many mosques it’s not permitted but in some yes. Certainly during prayer time it would not be permitted and of course, one should not even consider it but I do love to see inside mosques. Often the architecture and decorations inside are just as if not more amazing than the outside. I meant to ask what the capacity of the Masjid?

Yes you rightly said, the inside look of most mosque’s are not amazing. But, the inside of Army Central Masjid is quite better looks than other mosque.

So far I know, Inside the masjid, around 2500 people can accommodate for at a time prayer. But, there is huge open space kept open for prayer outside the masjid, where i guess more than 3000 people can pray. Actually the masjid complex is really big and the whole masjid area is massive as you mentioned.

I have read about the Putra Mosque but haven’t visited it. You should write a post about it @SirajulAzad . I do like it when everyone including non Muslims are allowed into a mosque. Only then will non Muslims appreciate the grandeur, beauty and significance within.
