Absolutely breathtaking photos @FKlijn
Iceland is one of those places where anywhere you point your camera, it will always come out beautiful.
How was your experience in Iceland? Were there some nice surprising things you found? I want to visit Iceland too someday.
@ellecross I have been wanting to go to Iceland for many years because I love volcanoes, mountains (as we do not have any), aurora borealis, hot pools, landscapes and animals. But back than it was far to expensive to go.
Walking on a glacier is a good tour to do. They have many tours. I went in winter because I wanted to see the lights ( did not see them was to cloudy at night) and prices are lower but I did not dare to drive there as we do not have mountains and not often snow. So than you need to book a tour. Then you best take a tour where you need a guide anyway. I do not want to book a tour for something I could do myself. So book something that is to dangerous to do it alone. Know that it is expansive, anything: food, hotel, airplane, busses, souvenirs. Food because they have to import a lot. There is a reason why they call it Iceland it is not warm, also not extremely cold.
If you have not jet seen any boiling hot pools, geizers, and other geo thermal stuf I would say go and have a look. I did not do it because I have seen something like that in New Zealand.
I did also not go to blue lagoon because I think it is overpriced and the locals do not go there. I went to one of the swimming pools in Reykjavik as the locals do. With also geothermal water in it and normal priced.
