Iceland - Full Circle tour

As a person who loves adventures, I’m also a big fan of traveling. Me and my wife organize most of our trips by ourselves because in every destination we choose, we always search for hidden gems and places that are not so popular among other people. Those are the most attractive to us.
Last year we had the idea of visiting Iceland and initially our plan was to take a tour of the southern part of the island only. Suddenly, a couple of days before the trip my wife discovered an impressive canyon that most tourists didn’t know about so she asked me to completely change our route by doing the so called Full Circle around the island. Although I saw it as an opportunity to write one of the first reviews of this canyon and to take some nice photos of it, according to the new plan, I was supposed to drive 750km in a single day, in order to reach our goal. But since I am a type of person who always looks forward to new adventures and challenges, I accepted my wife’s suggestion. Having completed all our goals till that day, we felt encouraged to undertake the previously planned venture. After 15 hours of driving, we finally reached our destination! But unfortunately, we totally overlooked that the pictures we wanted to take had to be taken from across the canyon, and in order to reach the other side, we had to walk 10km.

Although it was summer, it started to get dark outside, so we felt very sad because we had to give up and proceed to our accommodation. We were able to take some photos, but we were very disappointed since we had changed the initial plan and came all that way only because of that canyon. We learned our lesson: in future, when going into the unknown, we definitely need to get more informed so that we avoid such scenarios.
At the end, we had a great time in Iceland and we managed to visit every other location we wanted. But now and then we both think about that canyon and the view we missed.
