Hi : )
My name is Martin, I am a Google Local Guide since December 2017. I enjoy being a food and restaurant critic with the Google Local Guide platform. I always loved finding new or unique restaurants and try out something totally new. A really well prepared dish that also tastes amazing should really be captured. The great thing about being a local guide is that you get likes on reviews that have helped others, which is a great motivator to keep going and that you can browse in your review history all the amazing meals and restaurants you have tried in the past and sort of reminisce about them. “Oh that was the best ribs I had” (at Dickeys Barbecue Pit in Bonney Lake, WA) “I remember how it fell from the bone and was super tender” and then you go back and try something different, and I would then add more photos : )
I love taking pictures, I always have. It is very motivating to see that my pictures have an impact. They had all together over 900k views… 200k views on one of my pictures alone. These kind of statistics are very interesting to me. I am very impressed by the impact it has on the local community.
I added 3 new local businesses to google maps. It is very hard to be the first to discover something new and worth reviewing. I am glad to have contributed those places to maps, because I can clearly see how quickly those businesses got busier than they were and it makes me happy to see that they are thriving.
My original venture was always about Italian restaurants and trying to find the best and most authentic tasting Fettuccine Alfredo dish. My favorite italian food dish, but also the one that can be prepared in so many different ways, that they all taste a little bit different. So far I must say I have found the Restaurant in Bonney Lake, WA that prepares truly the most authentic and best tasting one that I have ever tasted:
Al Lago Restaurant: really enjoyed the atmosphere and how good the food was.
We were there for my wife’s birthday. It was on a really cold winter day in beginning of this year. Just a day after the snow storm added 14 inches of snow. Near the kitchen was an enormous fire-place, which was really cozy and kept us warm. It was swell and the waiter was informative, patient with us and just super friendly. I must say, I was surprised how big the portions were and how authentic the food tasted.
My wife and I enjoyed it and we highly recommend the place to anyone in the Bonney Lake, WA area.
I hope Google will choose me to attend their upcoming Connect Live conference. I would love to learn more about google maps, connect and make new friends and be a part of conversation on what more to contribute.
My biggest fear moving into a new area, was always not knowing what is good, and what is recommended. Google maps has become the number one source for me, to find new places to explore, to try and taste. I am thankful to be a part of the local guides and to be allowed to contribute to make it more easier for new visitors. I am sure some of the people who always lived in Bonney Lake find it useful to explore their home town and surrounding areas for any new exciting places, and all that helps us to build a better world.
Thank you Google and thank you Google Maps Team.
