I wonder, being a Local Guide, is good or bad?! What does the Local Guides program mean to me?

Hi, everyone, I’m new here. Yes, indeed, this is my first post here. I’d like to be part of the Local Guides community.

I’ve always enjoyed taking photos. So, it happened that I was at a restaurant, where I enjoy eating in, and took a picture. A couple of days later, I was asked by Google Maps about my experience. So, I uploaded my picture and my full review. After a short while, I was informed by Google Maps that my photo made a difference and was viewed by hundreds!!!

From that moment on I realized that I could be more helpful to others, especially on Google Maps, as much as others have been so helpful to me in different occasions.

As I love to explore different restaurants around my place, new dishes and special tastes, I also enjoy taking pictures. So, it’s a combined joy. Everywhere I go to enjoy a good bite or a delicious dish; I make sure that I take a couple of photos and share my experience.

All of a sudden, I became a Local Guide grade 6 and I enjoyed the experience and the challenge.

After a good meal comes desert and then coffee.

On the other hand, I also enjoy travelling to different places, especially open-air areas and landscapes. So, I take advantage of my vacation and visit different places, mostly, shores and the sea.

Usually I take pictures of the place I’m impressed by.

Rarely, I take pictures of me in a place, as I know, people would be more interested in the place not in me.

In all cases I see to it to share my experience with everyone honestly, to help them get the best of places, enjoy their time and plan their outings or vacation wisely.

In the end is it good or bad to be a Local Guide? I guess, it’s exciting, enjoyable, yet it’s also a challenging responsibility to help the community. I hope my contribution is appreciated.
