I will show you Russia is not so weird

Hello, world! Hello, Google! (what’s close to be the same)

I’m Marie, a local guide from Moscow, Ru (6th grade now) and this is my first post here (but surely not the last).

In the life, I’m not as guide as I’m excursionist and a sightseer. I visit lections, excursions to learn more about my city and other places. I didn’t like Moscow before I started, now I’m proud to show something great here, to be a local guide on maps. So great to share a hidden gem, a picture showing all the beauty of my city.

I’m in love with architecture and I can show you different centuries, unique and world-wide known styles. I’m taking pictures of different details and views all by my way wherever I go. And some of them I try to share on maps.

Also, I’m a great fan of local independent business and I know where to find a little store with used books, where you can taste freshly roasted coffee from anywhere in the world and where is the best selection of cider or craft beer in the city!

Now things change very fast, the new things replace old ones and we need to help to save things we love - it can be anything - local business or the world ecology, architectural heritage or memory of the time in little details. Attention can help to protect our loved places so I start by writing a good review and posting a nice picture. We all know (and we, local guides try to fight it) that usually people leave a negative review immediately but forget to share emotions if everything was alright or very good.

Leaving detailed reviews, posting pictures and just sharing things you know well about your community with others (even outside the maps) can destroy old stereotypes and make people calm about thought to visit our country. We’re not wild bears with vodka for breakfast, lunch and dinner! There’re so many things to do and see! Our big cities are very friendly. We have most of the things you need for your trip. You can find a perfect high-class service or “craft” place with its own character. You need more sports outdoors? Any cousin you like, vegan places, specialty coffee, craft beer… Museums of any kind! Natural and historical heritage. And much more! So I’m here to say visiting Russia is not crazy or dangerous, it can be very pleasant and impressive and I’m ready to help you if you need an advise or a walk.

Have you ever been here already?

Stay tuned! Let’s go get to know each other!

Hey @Saint_Sennheiser ,

Welcome to Connect and thank you for your post.

I’ve been to Russia an Moscow several times, and I like it a lot.

Why don’t you write a post about all those places you’ve mentioned above. It would be great to know where in Moscow a good coffee or craft beer can be found?
