i want to arrange a small meetup in my area. But i have no money.so how can arrange a place, food etc. Please help me ,. What can I do ?
@bikram11122 That’s a very good and valid question indeed. I just want to share in my community here in Malaysia, when we arrange a meet-up, most of our meetups don’t really involve much expenses, as we want to make sure all are able to join our meet-up regardless of financial status. Or if there are minor expenses, each participant should pay for their own minor expenses.
Some ideas could be find some attractions that are easy to get to that have free entrance such as parks or museums or malls, and do a photo walk around there. Or come together in a park to do community map editing to help clean up maps, and bring your own drinks and snacks. Or where available, join some of the free walking tours or bus rides in town etc. There could be so many ideas.
Here are some of our many meetups that were almost virtually free to attend.
Klang Heritage Walking Tour Photowalk

All the best in your meet-ups
Hi, @bikram11122
In my experience hosting some Meet Ups in my community, being a Meet Up Host was not means we have to provide free food/drinks or rent a venue for the attendees. No. They could bring food/drink themself or sharing the bill.
Paying for the Meet Up’s expenses is not the Host’s job (unless you want to). The Host’s task is to organize the Meet Up.
If I could give you suggestion, why don’t you try to host a Photowalk? This means you and the attendees walk through the city, taking pictures, and send some review about the places you’ve visit to Google Maps. Try to find some free attraction in your city. I’m sure there are any.
Here’s some tips that you could follow: How to organize a successful meet up
Goodluck with your Meet Up, @bikram11122 :))
Thank you so much for your valuable suggestion.
You can try hosting a meet-up of local market, photo-walk, street walk, etc
There are many idea’s where you have to just spend minimal amount and have a successful meet up.
Hi @bikram11122 ,
As fellow Local Guides @FalguniP , @iorikun301 and @StephenAbraham already kindly explained, you do not need to have big expenses when organizing a meet-up in your area. I just wanted to inform you that I have marked @StephenAbraham 's reply as a solution to your question. This way other Local Guides who are looking for such ideas for a meet-up can find them more easily. Thanks!
Thanks for marking the solution, it will be of great help for LG’s who are new to connect
