I’ve been told of perks…

I’m a level 6 with 4,000 points - I just hit 4.1million views of my photos - is that good? I want to get to the point that Google might consider sending me perks when I travel to take photos, videos, and reviews. A past friend of mine had around 40 million views and said Google used to send him discounts on hotels when he’d travel as long as he took photos, videos, and left detailed reviews - he also said Google sent him cameras to do so. I cannot get a hold of my friend anymore and I’m wondering if any of you have heard of similar perks - or was he just exaggerating?

If you expect rewards for your efforts then Local Guides isn’t the best place for you. We are all volunteers. We do what we do to help Maps Users and the community. If you get a perk then it’s a bonus, not a right.

There are no patterns, and there’s no fairness in who gets perks.

My motivating is the joy of knowing that I’m helping a lot of people and businesses. Also, making new friends here on Connect can be considered a great peek. I find it very rewarding being a Local Guide.

Hang in there, keep up the good work and maybe one day it’ll be your turn.

You can learn more about perks by reading: Questions about Local Guides perks also Why be a local guide? is worth a read.

And finally, make sure Rewards is selected in your email settings found here.

Cheers

@MortenCopenhagen . I agree in ToTo. Money or materials are not our goals. We aim at helping people by solving their problems. There can not be a bigger reward than that
