- I travel a lot to know about places and the diverse culture of its people and I really like to talk about the beauty and best of my city. This is the reason I became a local guide and share my experience and reviews by contributing to Google Map which are yet not included on the map. By doing these activities I know that I am making Google Maps more accurate for local people.
The last decades of war has caused tremendous damage and destruction to the infrastructure of my country Afghanistan; causing over 12,000 people to become disable who really need care and basic facilities while fulfilling their basic life needs. Moreover, over 1.5 million population of the country, have some kind of physical disability, according to a national survey in 2015.
Throughout my contribution as a local guide, I really love to share places that offer facilities to people with disabilities who suffers from lack of information and transport.
I love to help people by providing accurate information who really need it especially the people with disability who need wheelchair in places outside.
I believe my contribution by adding, reviewing ratings and uploading of photos for different places and confirming whether wheelchair and entrance for people with disability is accessible definitely help my people because there are almost no services to assist and support disabled people in Afghanistan.
Being a local guide, I am feeling proud that I am part of youths working for a sustainable future of the country.
