On top of that, I somehow lost over 15,000 points and am back down to 34,506 points (which puts my progress back at least 2 years). All of my recent contributions over that past year, and further back, are still showing under my contributions so I’m not sure how I’ve lost so many points and have been bumped back down to Level 8? Any ideas on why this has happened and how this can be fixed? It took me years to achieve Level 9 and I have continued to stay active in constantly contributing to Google Maps so I would really like help on how to fix this!
@ mattp10 In these weeks of the COVID 19 pandemic there has been some effect on the sum of photographs and contributions, as well as a delay in updating the score. I have read in this forum information from Google moderators that the pandemic has affected but that little by little it will normalize and nothing will be lost; something similar happened to me and then it normalized a few days later.
There was an issue with loosing points for a while, what happens sometimes but will normally be recovered. So I think it will be fixed.
While now I saw on your GoogleMaps profile many Icecream pictures. Very delicous, but it looks like that many are double and as well on different locations is the same picture.
You could use the time to clean a bit your profile from duplicates.

There are duplicate pictures of frozen custard as my company manages the social media channels for a local frozen custard business. They have multiple locations throughout the Kansas City area so whenever we capture new content, I share them on each of the different locations so people can see the many offerings no matter which location they’re looking at on Google Maps.
