@TraciC @ErmesT anyone with the know. I have a business which operates on a different name and at the same time I am a local guide. Recently while adding some photos I saw my business coming up and I decided to claim it and would like to use features in Google my business for advertising and other business related programs.
My question is I am a local guide can I continue contributing on local guides whilst I have a business how do the two co relate. And what is allowed. My local guides account is in my personal name and not related to the business.

Of course you can be, as individual, a local guide.
What you have to avoid if to promote your business, to give a review to your own business
Please make sure to check out the program rules
Here is the link also to the Local Guides program Help Page

Hi @chinyama,
In addition to @ermest’s great reply, I just want to say that I too have a business listing linked to my personal email, which I also use to contribute on Google Maps as a Local Guide. As long as you do not use your business name or logo in your personal account and that your contributions are genuine and not self-advertising, everything is good.
Hope that you’ll find the above useful!
P.S.: Please bear in mind that the best way to receive a fast answer from the team about a specific question or issue that you may have, is by tagging the Google Moderators who will be eager to assist you in any way possible.
