Hello everyone, my name is Lai Sue Yi and I’m from Malaysia. Why would I start to become a local guide? Well, I never thought that I will become one. I started to share on Google Maps since last two years, when I started my university life in another town (Kuala Lumpur), which is four hours away from my hometown. So here begins the story of me become a local guide.
I’m currently doing my degree on Bachelor of Wood Science and Technology, from the faculty of Forestry. In most of the time, we have field trips and travel from state to state, so I get the chance to travel a lot of places and try different kind of foods. Another thing is that, I love to eat! I’m passionate to finding good foods, and I will write a review about how it tastes, how the environment and service. Since I’m now staying in another town that I’m not familiar with, I always search for foods that I have never try before. This is why Google Maps has been so useful for me, I can see how people rate a place. From that, I write my own review about everything I tried, mostly restaurants and cafes and all the places that I never been before. Other than that, I have been to the attractive places nearby me such as the petting zoo, museum, park, and etc just to explore everything and try everything. One more thing about me is that I love to make friends, local and international. Throughout my university life, I make friends with people from China, Korea, Finland and Algeria, sharing them about my culture and learn about people cultures too. Why waste the chance to share the experience with others, right? This is what make me stay sharing and write review right now.
In Google Maps, I usually add missing place, answer to people questions in the places I have visited before, giving reviews and showing off my photos.
