I love to share street art from around the world and India

I am a traveler and I add a lot of information on Google maps from food, culture, history, heritage but if I had to choose my favorite, it would be street art. I love to add street art work on Google maps. Its fun to stumble on creative stuff on the otherwise boring walls. I want more and more people to know about these local works and I aim to inspire others to stop and stare for these creative color splashes.

My Love for Art

My parents tell me that I have been in love with colors, bright pictures, paintings, ever since I was born. As a kid, my favorite hobby was playing with crayons and water colors. Then I started working on canvas and fabrics and I did create some cool art work too. Well I did not take up art to the next level but I have always been passionate about colorful and creative works done by others. I believe that every art work speaks about the artist’s mind. Every painting need not be deep but it means something. Every stroke of color takes over boredom. And the best example of this is the random street art work that we get to see all over the world. During my visit to different countries, I would often stop to admire these wall art works. I did a solo trip to Penang for the amazing street art there. But now I am extremely happy about the fact that Indian graffiti and street artists have taken over the streets and are creating some superb graffiti and murals all over. Now there are no bills but paintings.

STREET ART SPLASH IN INDIAN CITIES

In the last few years, I have been traveling to different cities and capturing the creativity. The color palette has evolved unlike before. I would also like to applaud the initiative because it is not only driving a cleanliness mission but also creating awareness around social issues. This definitely asserts that a picture can speak a thousand words.

I am a sucker for Street Art

A couple of years ago, no one even bothered to look at those unsanctioned paintings on the neighborhood streets, why would they even talk about them, but today its different. The local artists are experimenting, they are giving life to blank walls and they are being talking about. No doubt, India has lots to offer to travelers but now we have street art too. Our cities, from Jammu to Goa, are experimenting in full flow. Our cities and towns are getting color-splashed. Tribal art is getting its due promotion too. There are beautiful murals, colorful schemes and social messages making their presence felt in the most lively and busy sections of the city.

Street Art and graffitti, together can enhance the aesthetic value of the place. They add a lot of character to the neighborhood. And most importantly, such is the power of a street art that a small piece of work can literally inspire hundreds of on-lookers every day.

Through this post, I have tried to give you a glimpse into the kind of street art that India is doing. I have tried to collate some cool stuff from different states. Indian art work has its own style. Our artists are trying to create something new by not forgetting to add a hint of our rich history and culture. The street art in different cities touches upon the characteristics of the places they are made in. Thus, one gets an idea of what the place was famous for. The artists are also spreading social messages which can create a positive impact.
