I love to share my corner of the world because...

I am Lewis Freer, 23 and I love to contribute to Google maps because I know my city like the back of my hand. I visit the parks, stroll the beaches, visit the cafes and talk to the locals so I have my finger on the pulse to the changes.

What better way to contribute the knowledge than into Google Maps to make the locations, listings and photos the best and most current content for locals and visitors alike.

I’m proud to live in my city Geraldton, Western Australia and want everyone who visits to have best experience. Just as I would have my home in order for guests and friends, I want my local area to be the same. Tidy, correct, exciting and visually stunning.

I have a photo sharing blog on Instagram called Destination Geraldton aside from spending time editing Google and making the maps a create place to trust and seek, I use instagram to showcase the beautiful photos.

One of my favourite locations in Geraldton is the St Francis Xavier Cathedral, this iconic land mark is a draw card to the City and has recently under gone huge restoration. The photos I contributed to this place are a great example of the types of photo i like to include to Google maps, as I believe a striking photo is one of the most important parts of any listing to attract the Googler who might be looking for a destination to visit.

While photos are important, the facts and details about a place are paramount. A cathedral is unlikely to change or move but other parts of Geraldton change and develop over time and it’s vital to be aware of changes and make the edits to Google Maps as soon as I can.

I love to share my corner of the world because its special to me and its love to create, edit and add new photos.

What better way to use this creative time and energy that making Google Maps an

amazing platform for all users and making my corner of the world just that little bit better one photo or edit at a time.
