Right from my child hood, I use to travel in local buses and public transport and often used to find it very hard to find way to local parks, community centers and amusement parks etc. I use to ask people about the way to location I am looking, often been directed to different ways. That’s the way I grew up and continued face challenges while finding the way until I discovered Google maps.
Google maps were very helpful, however, I discovered that if it becomes very specific to my requirements I will be delighted and one day I discovered Google local guide. I thought it can be very helpful for any one if I share my specific experiences on Google it will help others to save their time, will enhance their experience of being at that place, like food quality at a restaurant, experience at a hotel, ways to reach at particular places and share the hidden benefits or hidden drawbacks which might not explicitly visible on particular website or maps.
I always wanted larger community to get benefitted from my experiences, good or bad. Like I went to Goa by road for the first time this year in Feb, I discovered there are many ways to reach Goa from Bangalore and half of the way road was under construction, if I know this before I travel, I would be better prepared to estimate my travel time and challenges I might come across on the way while driving.
The only suggestion I have for Google maps is that if these experiences can be grouped in certain way and user can access them in a way that they are indexed in a manner which user can access at the time he needs. A Pareto chart of all experiences or a list which can be drilled down in various manner accessible through maps.
I am confident that google will take my suggestion and will imbibe and implement in their future versions of android roll outs. I wish to engage with google in this type of future en devours.
