I love introducing people to foods they would have never tried on their own. I also love introducing people to places they never would have walked into without somebody telling them, “Hey, this is the best spot for pho in Toronto”. I’m extremely lucky and work in one of the most food-diverse cities I’ve ever been to, Scarborough. Weather you want Greek, Caribbean, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese…the list goes on. It’s all right here, and not only do we have a good variety but we have some of the best of those varieties to choose from. A lot of these places to eat at don’t have huge signs, brand new buildings, and advertisements all over the place. They’re small, usually tucked into a corner somewhere, and rely on their food and service doing the talking for them. These are the most enjoyable types of places to contribute to Google Maps for me personally, there’s just something about a friend or coworker telling me that a little place I reviewed or took photos of ended up being their new go-to place to eat.
