The preparations for my first visit to Northern Ireland was filled with great expectations. I had made some searches about the great city and generated my bucket list of ‘to explore places’.
I was filled with great excitement and expectations to explore the city when I finally arrived Belfast. My visit was for a workshop, so after daily activities it was an opportunity for me to explore the city and soak in all it has to offer.
The hotel was kind to be of great assistance by offering a map of the city but it was still complicated and I still lost my way.
I had to resort to asking the locals each time I can’t find my route. I observed people always pull out their phone and cull out their Google Map to help give direction. I found this interesting and decided to explore the opportunities Google Map presents. With it, I was able to seamlessly navigate the city and enjoy most of the attractions it presents.
I realised the importance of the use of Google Map for my country, Nigeria. So many places are yet to be named and mapped so it gives me great pleasure to keep identifying places, roads and communities as my job takes me to new locations.
Being a local guide complements my work and I am happy to help people find their way around any city I have explored.
