I joined local guides community after discovering that my contributions aren’t visible to others

Hello everyone.

I’m a Level 8 Local Guide, and I’ve been contributing to Google Maps for quite some time by sharing reviews, photos, and videos of places I visit, especially the places that I genuinely enjoy or find useful and worth recommending.

I don’t really post much on social media. In fact, Google Maps is the one platform where I regularly share my experiences. It’s also the platform I personally rely on the most when discovering new places. I benefit so much from other people’s reviews, photos, and experiences, so I’ve always felt that sharing my own experiences is simply a way of giving back.

Interestingly, the reason I recently discovered the local guides community is because I noticed something unusual with my contributions. My reviews, photos, and videos appear normally to me, but I recently realized that some of them are not actually visible to the public.

I only discovered this after mentioning one of my recent reviews to a business owner, who told me that they couldn’t see it. I checked again after two weeks, and it still wasn’t visible, even though I always follow Google Maps’ policies and guidelines.

I’ve already submitted a request through the appropriate form and hope this issue gets resolved.

I’m happy that this issue connected me with this wonderful community to learn form your experiences.

Welcome to Connect.

By looking at your Maps profile I noticed that you write 525 reviews. But only 394 of them are currently public.

Come back should your form submission not fix your issue.

When did you submit the form?

Which form did you use? Did you get an email response?

I used this form, recommended to me when I posted my question in Google help community here. I only get emails from help community not related to the form. I think I submitted the form a week ago.

Notice at the top of the form, that you need to wait at least 15 days.

This form will not result in getting any notifications from Google Maps.

You need to check manually maybe once a week to check if more reviews went public.
