When I started actively do local guides program I wasn’t a good photographer. I think when I update google maps, it hit me, that if you are doing a community service you have to do it well. So I start to take pics with careful attention. Also, I didn’t have a good camera or device. Meantime I bought an Ipad air 2 and it had a sound camera. I learned it step by step.
Also, I didn’t know the Local Guide Program’s rules about photography well in the beginning. Now I know those things with experience. Also if I elaborate on my experience, I had to learn the laws for taking pics in Sri Lanka ( my country ) as well. Because after easter Sunday bombing attack, there were issues to take pics. Not only from shop owners but also from security personal, military personal as well. Picture number one is one place we visited.
I still don’t think I’m a good photographer. I use my iPhone 7 plus and iPad to take pics. But it’s not bad as the early days and I’m happy about it.
I added more than 35,000 photos to google maps and I have more than 105 million views!
