My Local Guide Points are continuously decreasing. As per email received on March 7, 2020, my local guide points are13,849, But today, when I checked my Local guide points, it is reduced to 11,280 points i.e. change in points is 2,569. My Local guides’ points are continuously decreasing. I’m a regular contributor to Google Maps, I’m very disappointed and sad from this Kindly resolve my issues that I will be able to recover my points.

I think I know why your points are going down.
Please visit this link and make sure that you have selected “Keeping activity until you delete it manually”.
Otherwise, you will keep losing points from answers given by you when they get deleted automatically by Google.
This should solve your problem in the future. Sorry, there is no way to recover the points you already lost.

If you search the connect through the text box at the top, you will find several communications on the same issue of loosing points.
Nevertheless, I am repeating that once again.
You will loose points if
-
Any of your contribution is found to be objectionable & non compliant & then gets removed because of that.
-
If you choose to delete the Web and app history through settings. Then along with that the "Answers to the questions will also be removed. That will cause an irrecoverable loss in points.

That might be the reason because I had changed these settings a few days back Because I didn’t think that it may affect my local guide points.

The same thing has happened to me, which is very upsetting… I’ve lost well over half, so instead of being within a few thousand points of making level 8, I am below 5k and considered a level 6 now. I just hope that my contributions weren’t deleted because I have been responsible for allot of much needed content in the Austin, Texas area over the years. It’s a shame that this even happened in the the first place. With all of the data mining/collecting going on, regardless of what is said, it’s hard to believe that nothing is recoverable. It is very discouraging.
