I was to attend an interview sometime last year precisely August, I got to the street where the interview venue was, but lo and behold the venue does not exist on the map, and no nearest land mark, I asked people around and almost everybody I met can’t seem to identify the place, I wander around for up to 40 minutes before I met a candidate for the same interview, who has just concluded his own interview session, who was so kind to show me the building, which I have walked past not less than five times during my frantic search in the last 40 minutes. The interview went well at the end of the day and I got the internship as a software developer.
It was since then that I really started contributing to google maps and It made maps have more meaning to me, because I can’t or will not allow anybody go through what I went through if I have the opportunity, but the funniest thing is Google has presented me with the opportunity to guide people and be a mini angel not expecting any reward from them, by adding pictures and new places to maps.
I added prayer house last year to google maps, because I know it is a landmark location in the area which does not already exist on google maps and right now it has recorded more than 100 views, since then I have gone to have over 9000 views on the photos I added, over 1000 review views which makes me glad that directly I have helped people locate their destination without difficulty. I look forward to adding more place and reviews to google maps, because I know the Joy it brings when you embark on a journey and you get to the location without stress, because I have been there before.
