Today I got a Pixel 5 coupon from Local Guides email, it give me a discount coupon about 30USD if I purchase a Pixel 5 on google store, it was great, but I already have a Pixel 5 on my hand now…
Can I exchange the coupon to other coupon or other product ?

I understand your disappointment of losing the joy of redeeming an offer for perks as you do not need that anymore.
However, it would not be possible to exchange the offer for something else.
At most, you can redeem the current offer & surprise your family members with the gift.
Or, maybe, you have to wait for another offer to get something more useful.

Unfortunately received perks / special offer cannot be changeable, they may be offered from time to time as a thank you gift for contributing great content on Google Maps and they might be different and available by regions and locations.
I suggest you keep contributing adding high quality contributions to Google Maps and perhaps use the next one, or use this one for someone else.

How do people get selected for this? I already placed my order for pixel 5.

Extremely disappointing. I’ve contribute a lot to Local Guides over the years and never received one perk. This is one I’d actually use but Google rather than reward us is instead making it a marketing offer only for some guides.

Actually it is not a coupon, the discount bind on my google account, if I purchase a new Pixel 5 then it will apply the discount.
BTW seems not everyone got the perk, my friend at lv 7 and 8 didn’t got the mail.
