By today, I noticed an additional badge in My contributions on Google Maps.
Thank you Google for encouraging to shoot more videos by this new badge.

Update Maps to the latest version
Go to your contributions, then click on your name
Scroll through the right to all the badges, including the new Director badge

Must have been the same update that removed the Where’s Waldo badge. Not that it served any real purpose but I’m not sure why they couldn’t just leave it there. Unless they received requests to get rid of it.

I guess after the success of the badges launches a while back… (The first badges)
Google maps now has a new badge! The Director.
This is for all you Video geeks out there who love adding the really amazing videos of places showing us the cool or bad vibe about a place!

I just saw that there is a new badge for video. It looks amazing. It is similar to the rest other badge for review and photographs these are, novice director, expert director, master director.

I have a few videos. And uploaded a new video today. No new directors badge tho. How come. ?

It’s not intuitive.
Go to the maps app.
Find a past review (maybe new too).
Find +add photos.
Choose the live camera.
Add three videos of a place this way.
You will be limited to up to ten-second videos.
Once they’re posted, tap on the arrow next to your points under your name.
You will see it there.
Sad though, it bumped my Wheres Waldo bade

Same here. Got 8 videos of 5 places . Waited a day now. Still no badge! Its still greyed out … Is it a bug?
