Ordinarily I am a shy quiet somebody, I really don’t like drawing attention to myself but roughly one year ago I sort of stumbled into the Local guide stuff. Since then I have had to put myself out there, standing in the middle of the street to take pictures (it’s been fun especially when people ask why I am doing that and I tell them I’m a Google local guide). Seeing the monthly reports of how many people my review or photo has helped makes me feel fulfilled and helpful, like I’m helping a lot of people who I may never meet in real life. Being a local guide has gone a long way in helping me shed some of my reserve and every single time I get a report on how many people my contributions has helped, it makes me want to do more.
I love being a Google local guide, it’s probably the most community service I’ve done.
