I enjoyed Kabuki performance

Yesterday, I saw Kabuki for the first time at Kabuki-za, a theater dedicated to Kabuki. Believe it or not, I think most Japanese have never seen Kabuki. Kabuki is a traditional Japanese art such as Noh and Kyogen, but it has a high wall for ordinary Japanese people.

The first reason is that the Japanese dialogue is different from the current one. Second, one story is too long to be performed from start to finish at once. Therefore, it is performed in each chapter called Dan. Therefore, we need to know in advance about the stories we see.

With COVID-19 , both staff and actors are trying hard to continue playing. I felt the pride of tradition.

This is Kabuki Soba noodles.

The professions around acting and theatre of all kinds have been some of the hardest hit during Covid with almost no income at all @TaizouOkazaki in some ways I’m glad this one is still open but I hope its not at the cost of their safety.
