It will be about one of the main architectural and historical sights of St. Petersburg. Wikipedia. On its territory there are many separate objects, each with its own name and history. Most often, entry to each of them is on a separate ticket. It so happened that so far most of them were missing on Google Maps. 4 May I send a request to add them all:
And on the same day, one by one began to receive refusals to add objects to the map. Reason: “Failed to check edit”:
Through the feedback form in the web version of Maps, I sent a request to clarify the reason for the refusal. I have attached some links to fortress schemes with marked objects. Including scanned print media. And I got canned response:

I still did not understand, in this and similar situations, will rejected edits be approved? Or should I resend them? And how to avoid the recurrence of such situations in the future? And if applications for adding places that exist in reality are rejected, what exactly needs to be done to add these places to the map?
Hi @Korwin ,
As I can see from your post the POIs you are trying to add are historical places. Keep in mind that there are certain items in Google Maps that you cannot edit and these include landmarks, established points-of-interests, or even the names of a city/township - Only Google can edit these although you can always send feedback and suggest your changes through Google maps.
On the other hand, when you receive a notification for Not Applied edit, that means that the team was unable to confidently verify the information you shared at this time. More about edits statuses you may find in the Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”? article. With this I am answering your last question: be advised that resubmitting the same edits is not a good practice.
Finally, I would like to mention about the screenshot of the email you have included. As I can see you’ve sent an Appeal Form to the team. Note that this form might be used when you don’t find a Local Guides badge on your profile and can’t sign in to post on Local Guides Connect. That means that you may have been removed from the Local Guides program. It is not related to the not applied edits.
I hope this was helpful to you.
@MashaPS , thank you so much for the detailed answer. I did not fully understand what I was wrong about. The fact that, in principle, send a request to add to the map currently active objects, which for over 300 years? Or is it my fault that I assigned them a selectable category that users cannot choose? Then, what category should be assigned to the historical place, excluding the “historical place”?
Here is a detailed description and photos of the first object on the official site of the fortress, here is a description of the second. Both are the first in Google search results. And this is not one of the thousands of little-known corners of my country. This is, damn it, the second largest city, the former capital, its center. If local operators do not know how to use Google search, or do not know the Russian language, then perhaps something needs to be done urgently. I think so.
