Looking back, I honestly don’t know how this journey from Level 1 to Level 10 passed by so quickly. What started as a simple effort to contribute on Google Maps gradually became a passion filled with reviews, edits, photos, videos, road mapping, discovering new places, and connecting with amazing Local Guides from across India.
This journey was far more than collecting points and badges. It was about helping people, improving maps, exploring cities and villages, and becoming part of a wonderful global community.
My Local Guides journey truly began when I came across @TusharSuradkar a legend in the Local Guides Connect community and a master of organizing meet-ups, challenges, and community initiatives. His knowledge, dedication, and passion inspired me to participate in my very first Local Guides meet-up in Mumbai. That experience opened the door to an entirely new world.
As the famous quote says:
मैं अकेला ही चला था जानिब-ए-मंज़िल मगर
लोग साथ आते गए और कारवाँ बनता गया
“I started alone towards my destination, but as people kept joining me, a caravan was formed.”

A special salute to Shruti Tai, one of India’s most respected and inspiring Local Guides. Meeting her felt like receiving an official entry into the Local Guides family.
Ajit Dada has been an exceptional mentor, always ready to guide, support, and encourage fellow Local Guides. His generosity and willingness to help everyone make him a true leader of the community.
One of my biggest motivations for attending the Mumbai meet-up was to meet TG Sir, Google’s recognized Meet-up Champion. His energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to the Local Guides community are truly inspiring. At an age when many people choose to slow down, he continues to motivate Local Guides across cities and countries through his incredible passion.
A special appreciation to Deepak Ji, whose outstanding contributions and record-breaking edits on Google Maps have earned recognition from Google itself. His dedication reflects the true spirit of the Local Guides program.
And to my dear friends Sagar, Rohan, Mayuri, Shri, Karan, and Bala — thank you for turning from strangers into lifelong friends. Though we come from different cities and backgrounds, our shared passion for mapping brought us together.
Many more meet-ups followed, and I met countless wonderful people. Yet, the first experiences and friendships will always hold a special place in my heart.
Reaching Level 10 is not just a personal milestone; it is a celebration of every friendship, every contribution, every meet-up, and every lesson learned along the way.
would also like to extend my special appreciation to the TRAC Team. Joining this amazing group played a significant role in accelerating my Local Guides journey. Their constant encouragement, knowledge sharing, challenges, and collaborative spirit motivated me to contribute more actively and consistently on Google Maps.
