Wow !! If you are traveling from Calcutta by air then to and fro will cost 16000 per person and you may find numerous budget hotels and resorts at 2000 for couple. Traveling by train then fare will be half and public transport is available from Madgaon and Dabolim. Food and beverages per person will cost 500 per day so you may visit at moderate cost and choose the months November December or February as February India’s only Carnival you may be part of this colorful fest. Amaravathi Exp is a direct train from Kolkata to Goa which approximately takes 37-38h.
Cost - Sleeper (800); 3 AC (2k); 2 AC (3k)
If you want to save time flight is the best option (7-8h).
Prices may vary depending on time of travel as prices are very high in Nov-Dec but approx 8k-9k one way.
