More than 500 artifacts on display, many of them for the first time
It is inspired by the traditional Baolis or stepwells, hence it is named as Sunken Museum
It has 2D and 3D interactive exhibits
It showcases insights on the life of the Mughal empire, especially that of Humayun.
It also showcases the rich heritage of Nizamuddin area, where revered Sufi Saint Nizamuddin Auliya and many important people from the Mughal Era are entombed
History :
It is developed by the Aga Khan Trust in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India
It took almost 10 years to build, and it is a product of 25 years of conservation efforts across the Humayun’s tomb complex

Immersive 270 degree digital screen which shows us the virtual tour of the World Heritage Site
One of the highlights of the exhibition is a 18 foot high golden finial of the Humayun’s Tomb, which was initially places at the top of the dome, but was knocked off due to a storm in 2014. It now stands as a centerpiece of the museum, restored by conservation experts.
