Huge Delay in Loading LG Connect URL & Topis - TravellerG

Since a few days, we have been experiencing considerable (above 1 minute and 30 seconds) delay in loading LG connect URL and loading different topics.

  1. Tried on 3 laptops - two of them with i7 and 8GB RAM
  2. Tried on Pixelbook, i5

I have tried on Chrome, Firefox and Edge Browsers. The loading time may vary a little but all are unusable. Also, many possibilities like clearing cache etc. including re-installing of browsers were tired.

Here is a video showing that abnormal delay in loading.

Also heard that few LGs could NOT access LG Connect (Site under maintenance or so?) and afterwards, they were able to access normally.

Kindly advise us what is to be done.
Thank you for your care and attention.

Hello @TravellerG

I am also experiencing delays in the loading of the Connect site, but sporadically.

While loading the site after a gap of say three to four hours, the program doesnā€™t respond almost up to a minute.

I purge that session through clear all (on my phone). Then that may load within a few seconds.

Nevertheless, once logged in, then the delay while switching the pages remains usual! (means the regular slow speed to which we are accustomed by now).

But, the huge delay in loading while starting a new session is something abnormal.

Anyhow, as suggested yesterday, please try the Google DNS 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 or any other faster ones known to you, If not done till now. That may cut down some delays.

Yes, I also feels the same from past 3 days on the Android.

@C_T @TravellerG

However, today is working this properly. But It takes a bit few time to be the normal one.

Is that any bit root can you find of this problem? @C_T

For me not yet FULLY solvedā€¦, dear @KishorMali

But, as rightly mentioned by our @C_T , Google has to correct it at their end.

We may have to wait a bitā€¦

Let us hear from others tooā€¦

The latency in loading the site is not new and is in the lag stage since months. I had sent feedback to developers and not yet received any response. So, since few months, Iā€™m hardly accessing this local guides connect site. What started as an enthusiasm on this site, is slowly fading away with latency issues.

About 4 days ago I also noticed the delay in opening Connect increased about 2-fold.

Quite annoying.

@Giu_DiB , are you guys are of this, and are anything being done to fix the problem?

Cheers

Sorry to confirm that even today, we are struggling with the same problem.

Probably, the Firefox browser works slightly better than Google Chrome; however, it is really pathetic.

Any suggestions welcome.

Dear @TravellerG , Sir.

I almost always use the Chrome browser on Windows for LGConect and rarely use the Android.

The LG Connect has slowed down considerably and clicking RSVP was consistently giving errors yesterday for several hours.

Iā€™m happy to report that the loading speed is back to the normal poor performance on my end!

Yes, I have tested your suggestions but did not get any improvement, @C_T

Thanks for care.

Hello all friends,

  1. There is a tremendous improvement - ā€˜No Hangingā€™ - but,

  2. When Google Chrome is taking 31 seconds to log in to LGConnect Firefox is taking 16 seconds

  3. Checked in 2 Laptops - almost same info.

Note:

  • I am on a 100 MBps fibre-net (broadband).
  • Both the Laptops are I7, 8 GB.
  • Tested immediately after a reboot.

Hello all.

Sorry, immediately after writing the previous answer, I tried to publish a post - but took almost 50 seconds to load a ā€œStart a Postā€ page.

Really feel desperate.

@TravellerG yeah sir you are right Iā€™m also facing this problem on my laptop and on mobile also. Itā€™s been some months.

I installed Firefox on my android phone to check if that would improve response time. Loading Connect home after some time with no activity is 5-6 seconds. Other pages takes 3-4 seconds to show up.

That is the same delay I get in Chrome.

Much better than what you are getting, but still not optimal.

Cheers

@TravellerG

Now the opening time of connect in google chrome is 25-27seconds on Android.

Before this, the time is 20-22 seconds.

Yes, the connect uploading takes a bit more time to compare to past.

I too have noticed itā€™s even slower than normal of late but have often wondered why Local Guides Connect is just generally slow to load at all times?

The format of the page is an odd one anyway and Iā€™m really not sure itā€™s the best way to encourage members to enter into multiple discussions and see older, non-promoted, content but why is it so slow?

Itā€™s not connection specific, itā€™s not browser specific or related to a particular platform, itā€™s just a horribly slow page for some reason.

Is there too much effort trying to make the place look pretty instead of displaying the actual content we need to see? If you compare with the Google Maps Community page there is a huge difference in load speeds but still plenty of functionality. LGC just feels like a personal blog thatā€™s got too big for the underlying tech and is becoming increasingly unbearable to use or follow / find content in.

Hello friend @MortenCopenhagen

In general: Even today the results are varying (not consistent)

I have checked in indifferent laptops including Google Pixelbook.

I am getting inconsistent data.

It is varying between 15 seconds to almost 30 seconds - just for your info.
