I love travelling and discovering lesser known places, be it a piece of special architecture, or a local cafe on a side street. So whenever I see such an interesting place, I will take a few pictures of the place from different angle, and if possible at different times of the day. It brings me great pleasure to be able to find out more about these hidden little gems when I travel, and have the opportunity to share with more people all over the world.
Here’s a shot of the beautiful gates of the Suspension Bridge (also known as Long Gully Bridge) in Northbridge, Sydney behind me, the shot taken in 2011. Many Sydneysiders drive on the bridge and through these gates, but few people know the interesting history of the bridge. It was built in 1890s as a gimmick or incentive to attract more people to settle on the northern side of the bridge. It was decorated with beautiful castle like gates where vehicles go through, and the irony is that Australia is a country that has no medieval castle like these! It’s just this kind of discovery that I love to dig into and share on Google Map!
