I often find that no matter how much I zoom in, I do not get all the details of a location.
For example, I can see George Canning Statue if I search for “George Canning Statue”. However, I cannot see it no matter how much zoom I use for its location near the Parliament Square Garden.
@Annaelisa I am sorry for confusing you. When I said “see”, I meant seeing the label of the statue. In other words, if you do not search for “George Canning Statue”, you will not see the label “George Canning Statue” on the map. I did not mean seeing the image of the statue.
Zooming in will never ensure you can see all pins in an area. Think of high-rise buildings. Everything would be impossible to read if all pins should show up.
So Google Maps will always try to show you no more pins than what will visually fit on the map. And which pins get shown depends on your search history and interests.
To check the entire database of places you will need to do a text search.
You can also open an address and from there see what pins are registred at that particular address.
@MortenCopenhagen Thank you for the clarification. What puzzled me was there was a lot of space on the map to show labels after I zoomed in. It is weird that George Canning Statue shows up now when I zoom in. It was not the case two hours ago. Interesting algorithm.
