Next time you hop on a flight to explore a new place, don’t forget to add a review of the airports you visit. Most of the time, people choose airports based on convenience and price, but your reviews can still provide helpful insight. Here are some things to consider including.
Describe the ambiance, cleanliness, and staff
Are the terminals and washrooms spotlessly clean? Is there natural lighting throughout the airport? Great spots for photo opps? Help others understand what it’ll be like before they get there.
Tell others about the food and shopping options
Airports can be great places to find last minute gifts, purchase duty free products, or enjoy a meal before boarding. Help others discover where to go by including details about the options in your review. If you’re reviewing an airport restaurant, be sure to include info about the service, prices, and any regional specialities.
Add info about WiFi and electrical outlets
Fast, free WiFi is always a huge plus at airports, but many do not offer this amenity. In your review, describe your experience using (or not using) the airport’s WiFi. Many people may also hope to charge their devices at the airport, so tell them about the electrical outlets available. Is it difficult to find one? Are they conveniently placed? Do they have universal options or do you need a converter?
Include details about public transportation access
Buses and trains can make it easier and more affordable for people to get to and from the airport. If you used public transportation to get there, be sure to mention how long it took, the cost, and what you thought of the service. Adding info about taxis can be helpful too, such as how long it takes to drive to the city center, traffic, and price.
What details do you wish more people included in their airport reviews? What’s the best airport you’ve ever flown out of? Tell us in the comments below.

Good tips @AriMar
I should also add that it would be good if users also describe about airport crowd, the guidance signs and language written on signs, and also what separates one airport from other airports and makes it special.
In Iran, me and many others belive that Mashhad Airport is one of the bests and it is very clean airport.

Useful tips @AriMar !
I would list even if the airport has a play area for children: very often the wait is long and time is not always easy with children!
Thanks again for your posts!
Bye,

Hello @AriMar ,
Thank you for sharing your post and find so interesting your tips for more effective reviews of our airports. It’s true that we always visit such places with some rush or limited time but I definitely agree that our reviews may make the travel experience much easier for many travelers.
In additions to the things you suggest, I would appreciate information about “any service of assistance available for aged or disabled people”. I like the overall service and the very clean washrooms at the Airport Charles de Gaulle in Paris, France.

@AriMar I travel a lot and some of these I never thought of sharing. Thanks for the advice. My only question is with the thousands of reviews at any given place, will someone be able to find the information they are specifically looking for or will it be drowned out by all the other reviews?

Most important for me is timing at an airport as to not miss my flight or spend too much time in queues. I value information regarding queues, check-in, xray, immigration check points, boarding, distance between to gates, baggage claim waits, customs and taxi queues.
The best airport must be Changi in Singapore, fast in, fast out and so much to do while in transit.
The worst was Heathrow London and Seattle Tacoma. Took at least 2-3 hours just to get thru immigration and customs.
Japan airports like Osaka and Nagoya used to be pretty bad too when it could take over an hour just to get one plane load through immigration due to repeated fingerprinting as the machines always had errors. You would think those frequent visitors would be faster, but no. Now they have separate areas for fingerprinting with multiple machines so it’s a whole lot faster. Out within 45-50 minutes if you were sitting at the back of a plane.
Dubai extremely long transit x-rays coming off another flight. Priority lanes do not help much for business class passengers.
In China taxi queues can be 1-2 hours and then the driver might not take you if traveling alone. You have to share your taxi, but Im not really sure how much they charge the other person.
**Do not use credit cards in Malaysian Airports especially foreigners as country is very high on credit cards fraud list. My friends details got skimmed.

Hi @AriMar ,
Very helpful article, Thanks!
I wish airport reviews include the following also:
- Review of airport lounges- now a days many credit card holders are permitted to use airport lounges all over the world, run by airlines and private agencies.
- Airport Shopping problems with international credit cards
- Tips on International transit transfers by-passing security checks
- Tips on delays in flight transfers due to construction/renovation of airport
- Reviews of accommodations available at the airport for transit passengers
The best airport that i have flown out of is Changi/ Singapore. Briefly:
- Great forest/ garden/ nature-inspired ambience of the terminals
- Very clean airport
- Clean, comfortable and adequate seating
- Free local telephone calls
- Enough free internet terminals and of course you can use free wi-fi with your mobile phone.
- Reasonable queing times to arrive at the airport and then get on board the aircraft
- Good restaurants
All the best!
Cheers!

@AriMar Very useful info. Thanks for sharing this topic with us.
Besides your mentioned points I would like to add one additional info in reviews i.e. Access of medical center/medical help inside the airport. Earlier in few occasions I noticed people are looking for medical help in airport.
One example, In India patients from northern part of country use air travel to see doctors (in southern part like Chennai/Mumbai) to get health advice or treatment. I remember once I met a boy in airport who had anxiety & panic disorder as he just experienced in flight turbulence, had vertigo and vomiting. So he needed medical help in airport, fortunately he got the same and able to board his connecting flight.
I saw an Automatic External Cardiac Defibrillator in SFO airport during my visit to San Francisco. Such life saving medical devices are very very useful but very few Indian airports have this device installed.
Till now the best airport I experienced is Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong airport is in my second list.
For Hong Kong Airport great views of flights landing and take off, hill stations in background as seen from airport glass window makes me happy.
