How to view total edits view count

Does anyone know how to find out the total number of views that my edits have altogether? Currently, my edits list only shows the number of views for each individual edit.

Hi and Welcome to Connect @SD826E

I’m not exactly sure what you mean here so could you please add a screenshot to help explain this.

Also, since you are new to Connect, you might like to have a look at Your guide to Connect. Another good idea is to introduce yourself in the monthly Community Introduce Yourself post.

Hi @SD826E

I doubt the views of edits are counted because edits can be changed back and several different edits can be done to one place

Views of new places you have added are counted and the number is not available except sometimes when it is mentioned in the monthly status mails.

I hope this helps

Morten

@AdamGT See the attached screenshot. View counts are per edit but having a total view count for all items would be beneficial.

Thanks for taking the time to elaborate on what you were asking for @SD826E . No,total view count for all items is not available. Given this. what I suggest is that you consider writing up your idea and adding it to the Idea Exchange. You will see in the Simple ways to improve working with our Maps Contribution Edits post I did just that.

Where did you capture this interesting screenshot? Which platform? Are you using the public beta version of Google Maps?

I have never seen these numbers before. Thanks.

Interesting but I didn’t see anything in there about total approved edit views so maybe this can be added perhaps?

@SD826E I have never heard of such a total count being available anywhere. And just like @MortenCopenhagen I was also not aware that you get it presented like that on an iOS device.

Hi @SD826E

Yes interesting and I believe will help but no, totals are not included in the idea but could be added. You might like to add your comment to that thread so that others with an interested in the topic will likely see it there. Alternatively, as I previously suggested, create and post your idea in a new post in the Idea Exchange. However, we are in agreement, there are some simple to implement ideas that could be added to enhance our abilities at managing our contribution edits.

In the meantime, as you are fairly new to Connect you may not be aware about tagging, so please let me explain. When you leave a message or reply to someone it’s a good idea that you properly tag them so that they will get a notification of your message otherwise they may never know about or see your message. To tag someone, first type @ then type the first few characters of their name until you see their name in the dropdown list. Finally, select the person’s name. You will see that I tagged you at the start of this message to you. Many think that this is done automatically when you reply to someone but it is not.

We all look forward to helping you in any way we can.

In the meantime, keep guiding and
